Perneet Chauhan gives us a sneak peek into her acting journey
Acting was Perneet Chauhan's childhood passion and she didn't want to look back in life regretting not having tried her luck at it. Luck as well as hard work worked in her favor and she has been bagging various projects on TV since then. With each role, she leaves us in awe of her acting skills and with her ever inspiring words, she makes us believe in life a little more! Read on to find out what she has to share.
Brandedgupshup: What made you join the television industry and please tell us about your first television assignment?
Perneet: I was always inclined towards acting since childhood. I would act out scenes and perform in front of my family and friends. A friend one day told me, “Why don’t you just give acting a shot!” I thought to myself that I don’t want to look back in life regretting that I never tried. So I gave auditions and bagged a role in a television serial.
My first assignment was ‘Love ne Mila di Jodi’ on Star One. I played a very simple and submissive girl ‘Avni’. I was very lucky to have been part of a good show. The learning and training I received on that show has helped me grow as an actor.
Brandedgupshup: You have done varied roles on TV. Which out of those is your favorite and why?
Perneet: I have done a couple of characters but by far ‘Avni’ is my favorite and very close to my heart because I could relate to her character.
Brandedgupshup: As an actor, which is your favorite genre and why?
Perneet: Comedy is my favorite genre because I love the idea of making people laugh. For an actor it’s very challenging too.
Brandedgupshup: Which actor do you admire the most from the television industry?
Perneet: I like Jennifer Winget and Harshad Chopra, they are doing incredible work in their ongoing serial 'Bepannah.'
Brandedgupshup: Besides acting, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Perneet: When I’m not working, in my spare time I make sure I exercise regularly because once work comes in there isn’t much time left to workout. I also spend time with family and friends at movies, coffees, dinners etc. I practice Buddhism and meeting people who do the same keeps me quite busy.
Brandedgupshup: What are your future plans?
Perneet: Honestly I don’t make the usual 5-10 year plans. I just hope to continue to do good work and the biggest reward is to be appreciated for it.
